Nice image. Poor girl looks as though she has only been given bread and water for a couple of weeks. The cross might come as a blessed relief. I'm sure you would be able to count every rib once she's up there.

Very nice picture but I do hope you explore the site and get to know what is here. Last year Yupar opened a thread 'Crown of Thorns' where contributions such as yours are more than welcome. We try to avoid 'one off' pictures and duplicate thread both to keep the site from being cluttered and to keep pictures such as yours from cycling out of view rather quickly.

I think her build gives power to the picture. She is so frail, so vulnerable. And the pose, the arms and hands carefully covering her modesty, futile though that is in the long run. Her eyes cast down, unable to confront her fate. She waits, unbound but helpless, the crown an ultimate symbol of her hopeless situation.
