yes, it goes on for a bit longer, a couple of minutes, in the film -​

it's an ingenious idea,​

a nice touch is the way the victims are basted like chickens on a spit as they approach the fire each time round,​

but naked slavegirls would no doubt make it a bigger attraction!​

I saw that movie on TV when I was about 9 or 10 (the release date was 1962, not '66) & the big wheel has been a part of my fantasies ever since. But, like many of you, in my version they're mostly women & naked.
Trivia note: the film was directed by Robert Aldrich, whose credits include mostly two-fisted action stuff like "The Dirty Dozen", "The Flight of the Phoenix" & "The Choir Boys", but also included "The Longest Yard", "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte" & "The Killing of Sister George".
