I get frustrated with the alert system on the site.....I am always catching up on things I missed .... and I hate missing any discussions of 'the spot".

I find the 'new posts' list is more helpful - it lists every thread where there's a new post, but only once,
so doesn't get as cluttered as my 'alerts' list does.
