Part 1

Snow scintillates and shades the dappled moon
The perfumed air of night hangs drenched with scent
In chains my naked body led in doom
Towards this drear place for which my life was meant

On summer's hill my heart would merrily dream
Of rides on meadows by the whispering stream
To lie on carpets of the prettiest of flowers
And kiss my love as minutes fade to hours

For other paths my life already mapped
As with the fly in spider's web entrapped
No mother's bed, no feeble creaking age
Instead in this grim yard forms my final stage

I do not mourn the days i shall not see
Nor crave caresses meant but lost for me
I stare into the dark and louring sky
Beneath whose clouds by gods' decree i die

Soft flakes lie on my milk white upturned breast
My soul, my very body now posessed
By firm hands who my fragile wrists will place
And wipe the single tear from oft my face

The bell sounds clear and echoes round the walls
Twice thrice the hammer on the spike it falls
A stream of red spreads on the cold white ground
My heart content - the pain i sought now found

Just noticed on the second reading, that the line at the top says "Part 1". More to come? I hope so:p

Part 2

Dark eyes and dim hair
I had a beautiful face
And I hoped that my old despair
Would end in joy in the end

Streams run silent through banks of reeds
And mist hangs in the stillness of air
I mourn for lost lovers and endless waste
And the wind still blows sadly through willow'd space

Take my hands that once caressed you
Take my body so curved and white
Take my breath, the life that scares you
Hang my limbs and bind them tight

I care not what pains I suffer
Break this poor benighted flesh
Tear my soul and wrack my body
Leave me dying .... Slowly dying ...ever dying in this place

With some thanks to WBY for inspiration....

there's skill as well as imagination in your writing, pk -
I like the 2nd stanza especially, very musical sounds and a vivid image.

I have to say, PK, this is breathtaking, simply breathtaking.

WBY didn't give you much help, just a little push and then

you

just

soared!

I was going to say, I wish I could write in Dutch the way you write in English. Strike that. I wish I could write in English the way you write in English.
