I wanted to share some quick snapshots from my latest custom with Cruel World, starring White Rose as Dr. Squalus, Adri as the Intern, and Wahlberg as the reluctant volunteer. In this one, Adri is giving her first TED Talk under the guidance of Dr. Squalus. The subject of the presentation is whether sex improves sports performance. To simulate sports activity (in the manner of Squalus Laboratories, of course), the volunteer is subjected to electric shocks to stimulate the heart the way hard physical exertion would. No pain, no gain. Eventually, the body will crave hard physical exercise, right?

Wait until the good doctor gets to the sex part.

The young actress does a great job of portraying the dedication, resignation, and trance-like state of a true martyr. She undergoes a religious ceremony, ritual cleansing of her nude painted body, and is given a drug, possibly hallucinogenic, to get her through her sacrifice. Then she willingly submits, with the support and admiration of her tribe. Even though her life may be temporally short, the intensity of her final moments will surpass the experiences of several lifetimes.

Shall we play a game?

One player reads a list of ten paired words, then recites one word of a pair. The other player has to remember the matching word. If she fails, she is punished. Each missed word is one stroke of the whip up to the first five - 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5 for a total of 15 strokes for the first five misses. Then comes the saltwater and 15, then 20, then 25, 30, then 35, and so on. The game is complete when the player has gone through all ten pairs, or is unconscious and unable to continue. If the player makes it to the end successfully, then the other player gets her turn to hang from her wrists and be tested.

Yeah, White Rose emailed me about her availability, so I wrote a script for both her and CRY playing a memory test game to see if fear affects performance. Hoping to get it together soon as sort of a sequel to the Milgram Experiment film CRY and Wahlberg did for me (pictured above).

Some context. The look of a woman in deep concentration. Say the correct answer or face the whip!

Wahlberg is making my two films this weekend. Now I have some ideas for my next scripts. Which would you want to see?

1. A woman is captured to be used as butchered meat in a special meal cooked by a celebrity chef for a wealthy aristocratic woman. The victim is suspended upside down and has her blood drained out through her neck. She wakes up in time to see the chef coming at her with a giant knife and quickly makes an offer to save her life.

2. A woman is used to test the exhaust emissions of an automobile to see if it is safe. The woman is bound spread-eagle and electrocuted to force her to inhale the gas. If she lives, then the engine is safe. If she dies... then the engineers go back to the drawing board. This is based on a real experiment proposed by an independent lab contracted to test Volkswagen diesel engines, but was rejected by the VW committee. A VW would be in one room with a hose running from the exhaust pipe into another room with a human on an exercise bike inhaling the fumes.

3. A woman is tested to see if a special drink can make a person clairvoyant. The woman is bound spreadeagled and forced to drink the fluid. Then, she must guess the correct shape on a card. If she gets it right, she must guess the next card until she gets one wrong. When she is wrong, she is punished with a cane and then presented with the next card. The test continues until the woman is unconscious.

4. A study is conducted to test the pain thresholds in various parts of the human body. The test subject is bound spread-eagle and has parts tortured to see how long she can last before passing out. She is revived after each session and tested on another part of her body.

Which one of these sounds the most interesting to you?

I would go with Number Three. Does pain help or hinder the expression of paranormal powers? Enquiring minds need to know!

She could be tested for a variety of powers: telepathy, clairvoyance, telekinesis, teleportation, pyrokinesis and astral projection, and punished every time she fails with electric shocks in very personal places.

Added bonus: the experiment works and the subject goes full Carrie at the end. It's not Weird Science unless it creates a monster!

As the special effects budget will probably not handle it, the camera starts of glitch, screams and explosions are heard and then the screen goes blank.

Right now I'm doing a series of Milgram experiments - if a woman can't remember a matching word to a pair, she is punished. I'm doing this with several models and keeping score. The player who can get the most right will win. Right now, Wahlberg leads with 7 out of 10 correct (I think she deliberately failed the last 3 though). Other players are CRY/Petra, Teresa, and possibly Marie. I'm testing CRY again, along with Teresa for the first time. See pictures. Top two advance to a Finals competition.
