I like the concept,

The text, well I don't mind it. its a different way of narrating.
Maybe mix or border the black background of the text with some (still) visuals?
To make it less of a read only time(for quick readers or people watching it more then once)

Personally dislike the added visual and auditory noise however.
Think without those distractions, it will be better.
