Am I The Only Crux Artist Of My Kind?

Go to CruxDreams.com
Wherever I go, be it DeviantArt, Pixiv, or here, it seems like 90-95 percent of crux art is either 3D models, realistic style, or live action. It's rare to find the type of crucifixion art that I specialize in: curvy, cartoony women, nails, no blood. It sometimes feels like I'm the only person that draws and enjoys this unique style of crucifixion. Does that make me an oddball even in this niche?

Also, I apologize for not making any crux art outside of YCH, I haven't been feeling a lot of motivation to draw lately.

No, you are not the only one who enjoy that style, it's not so common to see it out there as you say, but it's as enjoyable and beautiful as others on its own way, i personally love all your pieces , specially from not so common characters like Raven or Misty

Look the art of @Andyman !

Well, my style is not so cartoony, but I definitely like to draw (when I have the time). Though crux is not my main inspiration, it does pop up, now and again. There is blood, however. So, not quite so alone. Just think of yourself as "unique, in a niche area of interest".

Welcome, sounds like you’ve found the right place!

What’s YCH? I think posting an image or two here would be lovely. If you are unique that is wonderful! I bet you’ll find new fans here, and possibly our enthusiasm will trigger the urge to produce more.
Thanks, but I've actually been here for a while, it's just that I don't post very often. My work is here: https://www.cruxforums.com/xf/threads/cartoon-style-crucifixions.7114/

YCH means "Your Character Here." It's basically taking a base or sketch and finishing it up as a character suggested by another person or client. Most of my recent work has involved head swaps of a crux base.

Thanks. Cartoon characters on the cross has long been my thing. I have been contemplating drawing more popular characters or even meme waifus (Bowsette, Lady Dimitrescu, etc.), but I wonder if that would piss off more people than it's worth.

I think every artist has preferences on the medium they work in, what pleases them when they see it, what doesn't and so on. That is why art is so wonderful, it is the expression of a person. The other part of that beauty is that there are people out there wanting to see what you make because they love the same thing. This is more in evidence today with the internet as we can see all kinds of art, all kinds of porn from skinny or young, or curvy or old, every woman or man is beautiful. There are also lots of people dying to see the specific types of art that each artist makes because they love the same aspects as the artist does.

So....... if you are unique and different, I would be proud of that! There are all kinds of look-a-likes out there. Post with pride!

MH

Oh, thanks for the link, indeed I have been there before. I quite like your art and encourage it!

@Brambleberry-Rose
As far as I know your style crux is quite unique.
Not a bad thing, it is your style.
Personally I like my crux to be less "cartoony" but I think your style is refreshing to see.
Also the skill is quite high IMO as 1 pixel can make all the difference.

If you are considering other styles, why not?
Pissing other artists off shouldn't be a reason why you don't do it.
Style is not copyrighted, as long as you don't copy other peoples work.

I think you are searching for something "new".
If I may be so bold, a thing to ponder:

I notice most of your art is pretty front and center of the crux.
Have you considered doing variation in angles with your unique style?

good luck with your inspiration!!

Well, I have tried a new angle, and I have to say I think I have a slighty better grasp on proportions as a result.

You might be unique as an artist. Others do cartoon style but not like you. But where you are anything but unique is in your appreciation of it. Many appreciate your work including myself and find it quite lovable. You make crucifixion a seemingly nice and kind act with your cute busty chubby or muscular characters (most female) which is your superpower. To make such a torturous and humiliating, visual execution method shown realistically by many other artists (which I also enjoy for sure) with their bloody tortured realistic agony seem almost nice, a loving act done to equally lovable victims is an act of wonder. Keep it up!!

I always enjoy your musings. But I just get frustrated by the fact that so few seem to like my personal style and taste when it comes to art, crucifixion or otherwise.
