“OK, that’s it for today,” said Heather. “You are all dismissed.”
The people sitting in front of her started to put away their books and computers heading to the door.
“Don’t forget to update your programing for the next class,” called out Heather as they left. “You’ll need the new data for the lesson.”
She went over to her desk and started to put away some books when a young blond woman came up to her.
“Miss. Grower,” said the woman. “I just want to thank you for your help with my database. It’s really coming along.”
“Thank you, Kristy,” said the teacher turning back to her. “We’ll be meeting in the usual place in a couple of minutes. See you there?”
“Of course,” answered Kristy before heading off.
Kristy walked into the café and saw Heather sitting at a table surrounded by young women. She joined them.
“Another class, another meeting of some of my favorite students,” said Heather. “It’s good to see you all again.”
“You to, Miss. Grower,” said a woman with light brown hair. “We’re all thankful for the time and attention you’ve shown us. I just know that if I get into that master’s program it will be because of what you’ve done for me.”
“You’ll get in because of your skill and hard work, Stacy,” said Heather. She looked around at the women. “You’ve all shown such progress and you’ve worked your butts off.” Heather took a sip of coffee. “I just hope you’re ready for the tech industry.”
“What do you mean?” asked one of the women.
“Let’s just say that the business side of things can be rough . . . especially if you’re a woman.”
Kristy went through the front door of the office building. She nodded at the receptionist as she passed the front desk and then went down a hall with the word Goodkin Technologies written on the wall.
Kristy entered a room filled with cubicles and made her way to her area. She sat down and logged onto her computer. Lines of computer code appeared on her screen, and she quickly scanned through them to make sure everything was working right.
“Hey, saw what you turned in last time,” said Kevin, her boss, as he walked by. “Keep it up.”
“Thanks, Sir,” said Kristy looking up. She went back to work and the hours seemed to fly by.
During lunch Kristy snuck into the women’s restroom. She looked around and took out a laptop from her bag. She went into a stall and sat on a toilet as she logged into the computer system of Goodkin, the company that she worked for.
Come on. Come on! After a moment the screen loaded, and she was in the system. He didn’t change his credentials! Awesome!
Kristy quickly searched through the system. Come on, Allview! Where is it! The files then came up on the screen. There! Kristy quickly clicked on it and downloaded the file. This looks like the original! This will prove that she created it!
After a few minutes, Kristy logged off and stuck her laptop into her bag. She went over to the sink and washed her hands as she looked around before running off.
A few hours later, Kristy entered a large apartment. “Hey, Honey, I’m home,” she called out cheerfully.
“Nice to see you,” answered a young man with short blond hair as he poked his head out of the kitchen. He was fit and when he flashed a well-kept smile Kristy felt her heartrate quicken.
The man entered the living room, and they shared a deep kiss. “How was your day?” asked Kristy. “Still impressing them, Sam?”
“I don’t know if impressing them is the point anymore,” said Sam. “Afterall, I’m already management.”
“It never hurts to make a good impression on the bosses,” said Kristy. “Today, the CEO himself, Kevin Hartley, complimented me on my code.”
“That’s terrific,” said Sam. “Let’s celebrate.”
“How?”
“How do you think?” asked Sam showing a mischievous grin.
“But weren’t you starting dinner?”
“It can wait.”
Kristy and Sam burst into Sam’s bedroom. He ran his mouth over her neck as she closed her eyes in ecstasy. They clumsily made their way to his bed.
Kristy took off her shirt and fell back onto the bed. Sam landed on top of her and gripped her white bra.
“Be careful,” said Kristy. “Don’t rip it.”
“Sure.” Sam pulled down Kristy’s jeans as she undid the bra.
Soon they were both naked in bed. Kristy groaned as she felt Sam’s penis enter her. So this is what they mean by going under cover.
The next day, Kristy walked down the hall pass the company’s logo. She neared the front desk and waved goodbye to the receptionist. “See you, Karen,” she said.
The woman waved her off with a smile on her face and Kristy left the building.
It’s almost done, thought Kristy as got in her car and set the bag with her laptop on the passenger seat. She drove off and did not see the figure standing in the doorway texting on his phone. She’s coming, he typed.
Kristy arrived home and entered her living room. Sam was waiting for her.
“Sam, what are you doing here?” she asked surprised.
“How long?” demanded Sam angrily. “How long were you literary and figuratively screwing me!?”
“What?” asked Kristy. “I don’t know what you’re talking about?”
“Shut it,” cried Sam. “We know!”
“What?” cried Kristy as the realization hit her.
“How long were you doing it?” demanded Sam. “How long were you using me!?”
“Wait, no, it wasn’t like that,” said Kristy. “I . . .”
“I don’t want to hear your lies,” said Sam. He came at Kristy aggressively.
“Hey wait.” She backed up against the door. “Please just listen.”
“No, I’ve listened enough,” said Sam. “You’re done lying. I’m going to make you tell me the truth.”
Kristy started to turn to reach for the doorknob, but Sam grabbed her wrist and swung her around. Kristy stumbled about and nearly collided with her couch. She looked up and saw Sam coming at her with a terrifying look on his face.
What’s going on!? wondered Kristy in fear. This isn’t Sam! She backed away holding up a hand. “No, please stop!”
“I’m not stopping until I know everything,” cried Sam.
Kristy turned and ran out of the room.
Kristy came into her kitchen and turned around to see Sam coming at her. With her heart racing she looked around. She spotted knives in a block and quickly pulled one out.
“Don’t come closer,” said Kristy holding the knife up in a shaking hand.
“Oh, that’s how it is?” asked Sam. “You used me and then you’re the victim.”
“Please, . . . I . . .” started Kristy.
Sam kicked Kristy in the shin. She cried out in pain and Sam grabbed the wrist of the hand holding the knife. He pulled her towards him and wrapped his other arm around her. He then bent her wrist, and she dropped the knife.
Kristy started to struggle in his grasp. “Let me go! Let me . . .”
Sam and Kristy struggled, and Sam swung her towards the counter. Her head hit it and she fell to the floor.
Sam stood there for a minute breathing heavily. He then bent down and checked her pulse. She’s alive.
Sam took out his phone. I have her, he typed.
