Well, high ticket prices & poor home team performance have caused a drop in attendance. The owners are hoping more show like this will bring the fans back.:)
Movies always show Christians being herded into the arena in a large group & then the lions being released & attacking them. In reality, a lion, even a hungry one, would not attack a group of humans. Contemporary art show victims bound & pushed toward lions & other cats that a goaded into attacking.

yes, and they'd probably been fed on dead humans for some time before being set on live ones.​
