Poland after the third partition was divided between Russia, Prussia and Austria-Hungary. In fact, during the First World War, the Poles fought against the Poles. Indeed, one may not understand which part of Poland is being referred to in the cartoon: the one that belongs to Germany or the one that belongs to Russia.More propaganda; this time from WWI.
I believe this is from a French magazine, artist unknown.
It shows the beastly Germany threatening bound females representing three regions. I find the choices rather odd though. Alsace-Lorraine is a disputed area on the Franco-German border so its an obvious one. But, Poland was part of the Russian Empire, which was allied to France, and Bulgaria was an ally of Germany.
