I was going through my archives last night and came across a "Golden Oldie"; the original "Rope or Money", where a gangster has kidnapped the daughter of a wealthy businessman and is torturing her with hanging until the businessman pays the ransom. It's a good pick-up for those that enjoy suspension, choking, and hanging.
I think this was the first custom film I commissioned with Cruel World. What a fun time it has been!

Yes, it is a shame. But, she did some great films before she left. My favorites are "Body Donor" and "A Very Strange Dream" with her friend Anna.

For those that remember the two times Dr. Squalus gave a presentation on crucifixion, I'm thinking of making a third Dr. Squalus film with a crucifixion, but with Adri instead of Petra/CRY. Is there enough interest to make it worth the effort?

Alex is discussing with Adri. I wrote the script to have 4 positions to be tested in the experiment. These have been done with Petra/CRY but not with Adri, so it will be a new experience for her.

I'm spoiled. I've seen films with real whipping, so now fake whippings are a comedy. With suspension and hanging, there is real suffering, but not serious jeopardy, so I go in that direction for realism even if the story is fiction. If I want something fake, I do electrocution because it can be done very realistically if the actor is good at acting.

I was going through my archives again last night and came across the raw footage for another Dr. Squalus film I'd commissioned but never played around with (one of my hobbies is editing my own versions of films). The story is that Petra/CRY plays a freelance journalist doing a story about the exciting work being done at Squalus Laboratories. To get close to her story, she offers her body for an experiment, so Dr. Squalus assigns her to test how human blood handles oxygen in negative-g environments. How does Dr. Squalus test this? By tying the "specimen" upside down to a cross and draining blood into a jar. If the blood is red, it has oxygen!
But don't worry about the journalist. Dr. Squalus has a miracle ointment that will heal all wounds.

I actually posted a poll on this forum to choose which 4 positions I should use, and in which order. I based the selections on which positions I see depicted the most often. Number 1 is popular on the playground with children in trees, and adults with experience in gymnastics, dance, swimming, and acrobatics have no problem with being upside down. Experienced minds told me that numbers 3 and 4 would be the most painful, so I made #4 the last one because I wanted to depict urination as the climax to the experiment and spread legs made it easier to stage the special effect. Plus, I like the artistry of the human body in full spread. So did Da Vinci in "The Illustrated Man" aka "The Vitruvian Man".
For suspension work, nobody does it better than Petra/CRY. She used to be a gymnast.

Not seen in the commercial version was the after-shoot footage of her being released from the cross. She was definitely sore, but she is a professional and I give her credit for her dedication to the art.
