I just found this painting by a French artist who's wholly obscure to me,
couldn't find any obvious thread to post it on, so I've started a new one:
horreurs.jpg
It's 'horreurs de guerre' by Paul-Emile Boutigny (1854-1929)
Perhaps it might remind folk of other paintings they've come across in art galleries or online
that might appeal to Cruxers?

Just needs a good image manipulator to add a few crucifixions, I'm sure Eulalia would be delighted to see herself on the cross. :D
By the why, who are the soldiers/partisans or whatever? Surely Napoleon would not let his troops get up to such tricks? Or would he?
A story I read: a rape victim appealed to the little general for help. He drew his sword, gave it to her, then challenged her to get it back in the scabbard while he waved the scabbard about. Nice man.

not sure - the little I can find about him on the net suggests his paintings - or at least ideas for them -
came from Tsarist Russia in the late 19th century.
I found it while checking out 'The Rape of Armenia' film:
it was on a Turkish site claiming to expose misrepresentations of what happened in 1915 -
apparently this pic has been manipulated to appear as a b&w photo of Turkish atrocities,
but that probably wasn't the original subject.

certainly appeals to me.... from the painting, i guess that's based on the balkan wars... but idk
it could just be made up. just wanted an excuse to paint nudity and a bit of violence at the same time

Could well be - perhaps the 'Bulgarian atrocities' (1876) -
in which case it's a bit ironic for the Turks to object to it being used by the Armenians.

This photo was a fake. It was presented as a photo but it was a manipulation from the original painting.
Same thing happened with the photo of the crucified in the thread Genuine.

I personally visited Dauchou German prison camp, I've been proud of my German heritage, until I walked through it......saw the ovens....for the first time in my life, I hated who I was.....

whenever i see actual places like that, i think of it has nothing to do with people but time

I see HISTORY! If we learn nothing from it, we are all doomed to repeat it!

My humble thought....
There is NO master race! Just us all human beings!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stand by my original statement! Why can't the world Love each other?
simple Marcie one of the most usual reasons is: my God is more God than yours

heheheeheh, knowing quite alot about war helps me make peace with my obsession and fetish with violence.
i mean it's really not all just about the effects and atrocities
it's a science

Right, Admi!
And until everyone learns that God is inside all of us and is not an invisible spirit but our spirit within! There will be no peace!
