Ideal crucifixion weather?

Today, with almost 40 °C and still warm around midnight, that's what I call 'ideal crucifixion weather'.
Of course, the crucifixion takes place early in the morning, before the real heat turns on. Also take care that no idiots of onlookers drop a cigarette and set the dry grass and bushes on fire (such arsonists will be crucified on the spot either). A heavy day for the condemned, but the guards provide them with drink. When evening falls, the onlookers return, and vendors selling drinks and snacks. Until late in the night, the crucifixion site is a cozy social place of chat and networking. The condemned enjoy the warm air, and will not get cold. They will certainy make it to the next sunrise.

Anyone other ideas about 'crucifixion weather'?

Some like it hot.....

I am in agreement here. I love the idea of being just dripping in sweat from the cross.

I can see why it attracts you, but I'm with Jolly on this. To be crucified and exposed for a day in 40 temperatures, which is much greater in the direct sun, would likely kill most people.

I would propose that an ideal temperature for crux is probably around 20-22 C. Not so cold as to stiffen the joints, not too hot, but warm enough for the crucified victim to work up a good sweat as they struggle on the cross. Crucifixion is a physical activity, at least until the condemned gets beyond being capable of movement.

The extremes offer interest for the spectator, but over a shorter time as the elements overtake the crucified.

I doubt many of the crucified would last until evening. Not much to see anymore by nightfall, even if you provide water. And the guards don't want to work in that sort of weather either.
Guards should carry out their orders, regardless of the weather. Otherwise they jeopardize their day off duty, usually granted for being on the watch on a crucifixion, and see it replaced by a day of punishment foot drill in full combat outfit under 40°C.:loco:

But I shall be lenient : the sun will regularly disappear behind a cloudy sky, and unexpetedly, a few rain showers will show up, keeping the crucified cool. But to the evening, weather will be mild again, all trough the night!:zplayita:

Summers are sticky hot in rural Alabama. Crucifixion is carried out in the true heat of the day. When a slave is hanging naked on the cross a bota is attached via a plastic tube to a rubber penis gag inserted in its mouth to provide it necessary hydration as temperatures climb and the merciless sun beats down on the sweating, struggling, hapless victim.

Actually talking of alcoholic drinks. I toured an old jail once where you got to see the condemned cell and noose (the day was marred somewhat by the fact I didn’t bring spare knickers).

It was customary to serve a bottle of alcohol with the last meal, I think in this place it was rum. I also saw an autopsy from Ruth Ellis and her liver had traces of brandy (lucky girl).

What would anyone choose for their last meal and if possible last drink.

I think I’d want to obliterate myself with Irish whiskey following a pizza!

I'd not take anything heavy to eat since I wouldn't want to defecate myself on the cross.
Sinatra Select Jack Daniels baby! The most expensive, yet best tasting liquor I have ever had!

Too hot also brings insects, beeeuurgh, you have them on all parts of your body because they are attracted to your sweat and the blood that comes out of your wounds.
As I'm not very sensitive to the cold, I asked for my execution to be postponed until Christmas; no more insects, no more sweat, and blood that will have quickly coagulated.
Of course, with the cold my cock won't be too long. Everyone knows that this beast shrinks with the intense cold. In addition the cold will anesthetize me, which will not spoil anything.
