Sansa d'Arc: an AI homage to the early work of Quoom

Go to CruxDreams.com
King's Landing, 301 AC.

When King Joffrey dies to poison, Sansa Stark flees from the scene, with the help of Dontos the jester...

... but her attempt at eloping is intercepted. Dontos is killed, while Sansa is captured alive and imprisoned in the castle's dungeons. That very night Jaime Lannister helps Tyrion, his brother and Sansa's husband, escape. He does not wait for a trial, fearing that Sansa may confess and implicate his little brother. On his way out, Tyrion kills Tywin, his father and the true power in Westeros. Cersei, furious and with no one left to keep her in check, decides to vent her anger on Sansa and swears to make the young Stark confess. With any mean necessary.

It all started in the late nineties with the Crux mailing list. I think it was based on Yahoo, but I don't remember how I found out about it, or how I got involved. I remember some of the members: Lady Catherine, Dr. Mabuse, Arcimboldo, Le Chat, Makar... And Dr. Adolphus. One day, having expressed some constructive criticism on a story he wrote, Dr. Adolphus challenged me to do better. I had never written a story before, but this lead me to write "Jolanda's Ordeal" in the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve of 1998. If I managed to do better was never officially settled, but several members expressed their appreciation. Among them, another prominent albeit recent member: Quoom. He asked my permission to make a series of images based upon my story, and rewarded me with many years of free membership when, a year or three later, he opened his paysite. We exchanged several mails over the years, dreaming up a few joint stories that either did not see the light at all (Viconia, a character of the original Baldur's Gate) or only in a very reduced form (Bastila). He also was a great fan of Game of Thrones, and had a Daenerys story planned. That too, alas will never be made as it seems now very likely that Quoom is no longer among us. Not being a skilled artist myself, I recently got interested in AI, and decided to pay homage to my friend Quoom by re-imagining one of his classic stories, Jeanne d'Arc, with Sansa Stark in the starring role. I hope that, if indeed death is not the end, Quoom smiles down benevolently upon this little effort from the great torture dungeon in the sky.

A few words of advice:

1) This alternate GoT history is, as said, based on the work of Quoom. Artistic merit is his, as his pictures inspire even after more than twenty years. I picked intentionally one of his oldest series, which is now easily found on the web, in order not to go against property issues, and I will anyway use only a (relatively) small percentage of the hundreds of pics composing the original series. Anyway, if you are the legal owner of those pics, I will remove them.
2) For those who followed the series on GIMP where I started publishing it a month ago: it's worth to follow it here as well, as many of the pictures have been vastly improved by none less than @Wragg . My gratitude to him for his patience and advice.
3) Needless to say, Sansa Stark, a fictional character, is 18+ in this alternate timeline.
4) Just as needless to say, no harm to real, living women is intended, nor do I condone violence outside of the fantasy realm.

So here we go...

Sansa has been locked in her cell, unaware of the death of Tywin, the escape of Tyrion, and the wrath of Cersei looming over her...

Cersei comes to examine her captive. The sight of the young girl, naked and in heavy chains, does not bring solace to the pain of losing her firstborn, but fuels the flames of anger. A soldier forces Sansa to kneel down in front of the Queen Mother, and then, to further humiliate her, trips her over, causing the daughter of Ned Stark to fall on her face.
