....with apologies if I called my friends the wrong name...

As I have said in the US the 'best' events are tape delayed on NBC. They just ran a documentary 0n the UK and Winston Churchill during 1940-41. While I am amazed by the sacrifices these Olypimic athletes do to make the games, this little surprise reminded me how the world would be a very different, and very bad, place if the last line of defense for freedom wasn't a small nation on a small island.

It is too easy to think that someone else will keep you free and it is OK not to contest those who would suppress us. I will forgo my Seagram's and raise a glass of ale to my friends across the pond!

yeah, it's been a pretty good Games -​

generally very happy, friendly, good-humoured,​

the home crowd naturally pleased we've done so well,​

but cheering everyone who deserved it.​

It's nice that we've made people around the world a wee bit happier for a couple of weeks!​

Again NBC will not broadcast the closing ceremony until 6PM CDT (an hour from now).

I must say I have enjoyed much of the olpympics but look forward to getting back to gratuitous sex and violence...

Well, its almost midnight here near the coffee shop (Somewhere near 6AM GMT) and NBC finally broadcasted the end of the closing ceremony. I want to thank our friends from the islands for being such gracious hosts.
