Really... a completely unrestrained prisoner... a long rifle pointed at her from a very short distance... they allow her to gesticulate wildly... a guard behind her, not properly placed out of the possible line of fire.

What if the pleading gestures of the condemned are just a ruse to grab at the rifle. With such ill-trained personnel probably that guards' reaction would be to panic, scream and pull the trigger uncontrolled, while the terrorist sidesteps and moves the barrel this way and that... they will have to report another 'training accident' on the base...

... like they do for security audits, you can hire some hackers who will break your security and then they tell you how they do it, so you can fix the vulnerabilites before real attackers exploit them. No crucifixion involved normally...
