I probably do more blood than is necessary and vary from strict realism for effect. Real nail wound most likely don't bleed all that much until the nails are removed. I just want to remind the viewer that there is a rather nasty wound in each of her limbs. Or, alternatively, instead of blood, she has gravity-defying molasses in her veins...
