A stowaway caught in act and left on the seashore as a punishment. Maybe she was a spy? And maybe not? But there was no time to check her true motives. So we simply took her clothes, fucked her, nailed her to some extra wooden planks found somewhere and left her to die on a shore. Nothing special for the sailors.

When Yusseby and Jastrow addressed this theme the charge was piracy.

Thanks, I didn't know these pictures before but I found them to be perfectly correct: the piracy was one of the basic crimes punished with the crucifixion and we know that women were present on the pirate ships and lived in the pirates' villages.

Phlebas, ever since your "anachronistic water bottle" manip many years ago I've had a thing for those "curve of hips and buttocks on either side of the stipes" rear views, by whatever artist.

Aqueducts are a definitive visual cue that the setting is Ancient Rome. The one Steve Cordero used is still standing someplace in Spain.

To be precise, it's a bridge not the aqueduct, but if you mean the "Roman arcade" you are correct: it makes a perfect ancient Roman background for the pictures, in an open landscape as well as in tge cityscape.

"Victoria Graccha - an untrustworthy wife" - "I deserved nothing better than this pole", however the second phrase is partially inside her belly and vagina, and the blood-covered text is rather difficult to be deciphered at this stage.

Very stimulating, evocative drawings. Nice work, Andyman! I just now discovered this thread, and though I'm not usually a big fan of crux, you really make it come alive. I particularly like the poses where the victims arms are drawn over the crosspiece and she's sitting on a sedile. Seems like that would be a combination of strappado and wooden horse torture, and I expect that would be especially excruciating. Although of course trying to determine which crucifixion variations would allow the combination of greatest suffering/duration of torment would be extremely difficult. Still, I'm sure the effort was made!
