Thank you so much!Well we all had a really amazing Beltane celebration in Glastonbury yesterday, despite the best efforts of the infamous British weather to spoil the occasion. Fortunately it dried up a bit by midday so we didn't get completely soaked during the long procession from the town square up to the white spring at the foot of Glastonbury Tor.
There was a lot of people there too - I guess so many were looking forward to this after having had the event cancelled for the past two years. As always, there was a wonderful atmosphere in the town and lots of genuine witches, wizards, druids and bards joined in with the festivities, along with big crowds who just wanted to enjoy the occasion. I have no idea how many people were there but it was at least a couple of thousand, probably more.
Here's just a small handful of the many photos from the procession;
The fae folk are among us this day

She is always the star of the show (for me anyway )

And may the blessings of Beltane be upon all of you...

Blessing the maypole in the presence of the woodland spirits. The Holly King is ceremonially driven out, symbolising the end of winter. The union of the Green Man and the May Queen takes place, which will result in the birth of the Oak King and the imminent arrival of summer

And then the procession begins - If anything the crowd was bigger this year than in 2019

The Green Man cometh...

It's a fertility festival, so everybody is horny

So what we have here is a horny redhead, ten feet tall, dressed only in body paint and some old fur fabric - Yeah that'll work

Wonderful, these pictures. The costumes are gorgeous. But one question, King Arthur wasn't stopping by? Because Glastonbury is supposed to be Avalon.Well we all had a really amazing Beltane celebration in Glastonbury yesterday, despite the best efforts of the infamous British weather to spoil the occasion. Yes, King Arthur was there, along with two of his bards (who looked more like a couple of gangsta rappers - not exactly Taliesin, that's for sure ), and made a very brief speech in the market square and then said that he "had to go back to Sailsbury because he was getting wet" (seriously LOL)Wonderful, these pictures.
