Hi Hans,
Apostate said it was by Arcimboldo but that isn't the same as certifying it. Apostate also said he did not have a higher resolution copy. Maybe he didn't have a previous copy. It's odd how this pic has suddenly surfaced.

Hi Hans,
Thanks for the link. There are one or two new ones there but unfortunately you have counted several twice and some of them three times, see the 13th row for example. I don't think models should count. I think the true total is around 70 but I'll check this weekend. I don't think "Delactatio" with "Happy birthday" added should count either. Anyway here are the ones which I think are new to this thread.

i remember that the charming Mr.A. did 2 versions of "down 600" the second one has the unfortunate girl's Tits skewered through the prison Bars....."OWCH!!"

I think it's clear enough - they've just finished scourging me
and now I'm about to be unshackled and made to carry that enormous patibulum.
All the Instruments of Crucifixion are lying at my feet,
even my titulus - 'ad crucem [damnata]!'

But I agree, it's not very convincing, too cluttered, lacking Mr A's subtlety.
Compare the defiant look and pose of the tortured girl in 'Screwed' -
that's the real Arcimboldo, a picture with a story, with a real sense of the victim's anguish!

I agree entirely but only you could put it so finely. In the absence of any convincing proof that it is a genuine Mr A. I declare it a fake. I'm going to look a bit silly if Mr A. turns up and says "Well..actually...."

Just had this hunch I ought to check the Forum right now, something's waiting for me...
