I'm currently working on environment and lighting for my next crux movie...
Here are 2 ideas I have:
Forest at sunset or in a crypt in the night (the crux scene I used here is from a blond Elaine's story, but it may be different)
To everybody:
Please tell me what you think about them, which one do you prefer and why ?

Well they are both superb, but if you push me I'd opt for the forest, I think.

In general I always prefer outdoor crux scenes, but a crypt with the coffins around the walls some open and standing up would be good too.
I imagine the Kirk at Alloway in Tam O'Shanter. "Coffins stood round like open presses that shew'd the dead in their last dresses."
(Presume that refers to a linen press, not to a massive hydraulic press as Mr Bramah was not on the scene then.)

I prefer outdoor but the crypt situation could be quite devastating...

Crucifixion needs to be open to public to serve the purposes of warning, humiliating, degrading etc., no matter if it's carried out in the forest or in a crypt.

It enhances the atmosphere to have multiple victims who can see each others fate (like your "Happy New Year 2019" http://www.cruxforums.com/xf/threads/bartnels-inferno.5412/post-424762 ) and multiple watchers to taunt them and enjoy their suffering.

As animation is planned, don't think I could do such movie with a full crowd of onlookers, except if you're ready to wait 10 years!
I began a few tests ... it seems outdoor scene is a loooot longer to render (due to all those trees I suppose) than crypt one.
I think I shall modify the outdoor scene.
In the meantime, I will try to show here a few extracts (low res) with crypt test!
