judicial shooting
Complete nonsense! It wasn't done that way. Neither for men nor for women. There was a clear procedure.
In the USSR, a person sentenced to capital punishment (execution), immediately after the verdict was announced, upon returning to prison from the courtroom, was dressed in a special uniform (a black robe with white or gray stripes, now this is worn by those sentenced to life imprisonment. In prison jargon, these are called “stripes” ). The convicts had their hands cuffed behind their backs, which were removed only in the cell. Movement around the prison was carried out only in handcuffs and accompanied by a convoy of at least 4 people, very often with a service dog. Two guards wrung their shackled hands behind their backs in such a way that the prisoner could only walk bent forward. The third guard walked in front and the fourth, with the dog, walked behind. During the walk (30 minutes a day in a special area), the handcuffs were not removed. The person sentenced to death was kept in solitary confinement in a special prison block. He had no contact with other prisoners. Visits with relatives were not allowed (although there were exceptions - but this is already in the realm of prison legends).
The convict did not know the day of his execution. After the verdict was passed, it usually took from 3 to 9 months until the execution. Before execution, the convict was usually told that the prosecutor wanted to see him or some other reason not related to the upcoming execution was given. The convict was led to the place of execution (usually it was located in the basement of the same prison block, although it could be located outside the city, in a specially equipped place).
After the prosecutor informed the prisoner that his application for clemency was rejected, his hands were wrung so that his head was lowered. In this form, the convict was taken into an adjacent cell, the walls and floor of which were protected by boards from ricochets. At the end of the procedure, the condemned man was forced to his knees and the executioner shot him in the back of the head. Everything was done very quickly so that the person did not have time to come to his senses. After that, the prosecutor and the doctor entered the cell, signed the protocol and took a photo of the executed person. All this was attached to the investigative file. The body was not given to relatives for burial.
Now the same rules apply to life prisoners.
