Everibody understands what happened during sino-japanese war with of course the infamous "rape of Nankin", but the fight betweeh Kuo-Min-Tang and communists would need may be some explanations ? Because they both were allies against japanese troops, don't they ?

In the beginning, the two parties were indeed partners. Their first hostility began in 1927, when Chiang Kai-shek launched the April 12 coup and purged and arrested the Communist Party in all Kuomintang-controlled areas. As a prelude, the war broke out The first civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party.
Later, in 1937, after the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the war between China and Japan escalated into a full-scale war. In order to resist the invasion, the two parties united again. After the victory in 1945, due to irreconcilable conflicts, war broke out again between the Communist Party and the Kuomintang.
