Lets face it, crucifixion as execution has been crashed completely. Not even that this method is associated with the godhead of a major religion, so that it is a desired method for the executed, it is also connected to numerous so called martyrs and last but not least it is an extremly expensive method. The only way to save it is to use it in a non-deadly matter to humiliate the punished person. For that it must be an horror of the person to been showed nude to people, or being analy or in case of females vaginaly penetrated publicaly. On might think that in a modern society, with all the promotion of the rights for gays and lesbians, which are defined by their sexual behavior, this kind of public exhibition is no problem for anyone. Except naturaly the fact that he or she does not like it because he or she is old, fat, or whatever. For me it is interesting to note that this is indeed not the case and especially younger peoples, around 30 now, wear ridiculously large swimmpants and acrefuly hide behind towels when they change in a way it became clownesk. When I was young and in my state although modern female rights were still underdeveloped, males were nude in public and females just did not watch! You might think of the YMCA rules, but I remember in my college times in Europe, when I was going for a swimm with a female collegue, it was about 1984 and we were both 20, I changed to swim suit near to her, she just did not look as it was expected by the rules of good behavior, while she changed secretly showing her modesty against me and that was the standard then. I recently discussed with an historian, since it was concluded in an old society after noticing, that the female dressed there were in a way that the females were bare breasted and so they concluded without a lot of discussion that in this society the females were the dominant group.
But do not be sad, this society develops in a way that makes public humiliation possible again. You might heard of that story of someone paying a lot of money to an older porn star to keep secret she had sex with him, although the story is completely ridiculous since she looks a lot more ugly than the actual wife of that person. I mean I would have to pay money, so the porn stars tell that I fucked them, so very strange developments we are seeing now. So it is not a fantasy that indeed crucifixion can be used again, not as execution but as public display for smaller law violations. After all, the use of monetary fines by a state is extremly unethical if that money is not immediately spent to some wealthfair organisation.

You can add the diameters of the nails to the cornu
