there are several out there. I use Corel but far more popular is Adobe Photoshop. They both have similar functions but if I were starting out today I would go with Adobe. Not only are there far more users so it is easier to advice. Plus with Corel you get the manual. With Adobe there is not only the manual but there are '...for dumbies' books to get you up and running...

The software is very easy to use and the previous link is for several basic lessons. The software does not need a password and is only 92 MB. It can be run from a USB drive. It would be good to have more people on board.
I use Corel PaintShopPro.
