Barbaria and Windar - Southern Discomfort

In the fall of 1965, Barbara Moore arrives fresh from Minnesota to Kilmartin, a small town in Tennessee, to take a beginning faculty position teaching History at the local college, Kilmartin Academy. The times, they are a changin'-the Academy has admitted their first Black student, Harriet Jackson, and two young students from New York, Jerry Goldman and Alvin Washington have arrived in town on a quest to register voters. Needless to say, some of the residents, members of the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan, are a tad displeased by the newcomers and their messing with time-honored traditions.

A young college student was at a village, helping it with a water project. However, when the project was finished, the water didn't come. The natives suspected witchcraft and blamed her for it. They stripped her of all her clothes and nailed her, her back facing the crowd, on a cross, where she died.

I totally missed this Markus's masterpiece.

I would be so good to have a comprehensive list of his many excellent comics and stories.
