Strangely enough for my animation its the opposite:i tend to slow them down to hide the animation faults.

Pretty good job getting the hammer sounds and screams timed with the action. I did that in Poser with one of my old Sabina animations using screams I captured from a Cowgirl Insex video and crowd sounds from the crucifixion scene in The Passion of the Christ. One thing that worked well with that one was that once I put the screams where I wanted them in the time line, I went back and animated Sabina's face with visemes that fit the sound so that it looked like her lips were moving with the screams.

That's magnificent, putting it all together like that makes it so vivid,
it's so how I imagine it would really be, how I'd react to the horror and the pain,
hardly believing it's happening to me. The interaction between the girl and the demons
is subtle, she seems to be trying to communicate with them with her eyes and gestures,
they aren't violent, just huge, vastly stronger than she is, and they go about their job
with relentless determination. I notice the moment when her wrists are nailed,
and one Demon tries to grab her legs, but she kicks wildly -
so they leave her for a few moments, to twist and kick and scream helplessly,
then they get her under control... Oscars to Bartnel and Hornet!

You can try VLC a freeware media player that can play almost any file format:http://www.videolan.org/index.html

All right.
My way is is to work with keyframing in the timeline ... and doing fast tests !
So for me, eye blinking means :
Frame 01 : eyes open (linear before)
Frame 03 : eyes closed
Frame 06 : eyes open (linear after)

After animation, the most important thing to me is light and luminous ambience.
For example, before choosing this hellish red light I tried a few others without being satisfied:

Daylight:
