No, as each nail would need to be straightened after every removal or, indeed, before removal if the end of the nail had been clinched over to prevent it working loose. Neither iron nor mild steel will last more than a few bending and straightening operations before the metal becomes fatigued and starts to crack.
Truly??

That's an interesting picture, though, providing one ignores little details such as the shape of the nail head and the transition to the shank of the nail, the lack of a washer made from acacia wood or any other species of timber and the end shakes (splits) in the footbar which could have opened up when the nail was hammered home.

Looking at that pic makes me glad my feet were tied.
LOL - I dare say you would be.

To get the discussion back on track, I've recently been viewing some "crucifixion" videos other than those produced by Makar; they may have been Welsh Webb but their title sequences seem to have been removed. They are generally unsatisfactory in some respect or other - some have the "victim's" feet flat on a footrest or even on the ground, so that her legs are straight rather than bent. This also reduces her suffering, although one or two of the models do seem to have suffered -but mainly from boredom!

Other videos shew the model tied to the patibulum not just at the wrists but also at (or just above) the elbows, limiting movement so much that I wonder why they'd bothered. Equally bad are those where the model had a rope around her waist, securing her to the stipes or to the tree used as a stipes, as those also lack movement. One of the worst has a chain under the model's armpits and hooked onto the stipes; it also features a short flogging scene which was quite the least convincing I have ever seen.

But, if the body is going to be removed, then ropes would have to be cut, whereas nails can either be pulled out & rebent or melted down as scrap iron - something you can't do with rope. If the body is being left to rot, then the rope would probably rot as well. All in all, while the intial cost of nails is higher, I would have to say they're more economical than rope.

I remember Welsh Webb saying on another board about a year or so back that at least a couple of his models were unable to last on the cross and he was forced to put their feet on the ground. Having not seen the videos you referenced, and of course they may be from someone else, that might be part (maybe not all) of the problem. I have seen some clips of his where that was the issue and generally agree with your assessment though I like a lot of his work and have bought some in the past.

Yes they were not large nails I think they were about 4in long,I was payed $50.000 to be crucified naked and nailed,I healed very nicely I just have a little tendenitis in my right hand and some in my left...but not bad I can handle it.
excuse me...but you say they only give you 50 dollars for working as their actress??

i don't think it worthwhile to earn money in that way. So...you accepted just because you feel good being crucified.

but if it's 50000 dollars, then...

you know it's very dangerous to drive a nail through hand.

i'm sorry if i offended you by asking such questions.

however , i feel good surfing on this website, i come from P.R.China, and many "foreign"websites are not available due to the damned GFW. Thank god , i finally found a website on which i could discuss crucifiction.

It's ok sweetie,I was payed $50.000.I was very lucky that they used small nails. The only reason that I did it was because I needed the money.

$50K is not a reason to sacrifice yourself to the cross naked nor will a cute avitar save you and your friends. Don't forget "the shark bites, with it's teeth, dear, And he keeps them... pearlly white"

Does anyone like the avitar?
