I find all crux art in the last few years more or less samey, even art where there are no constraints like a live female model suffering in an uncomfortable position for some time.
There are also different tastes. For example, for me the ''nails'' don't do a thing. Whoever tries to do it, for me they look so obviously fake and unnecessary that they don't move my dial at all.
What I love is the serene crux pose in the nude, and yet, all the way since makar's films and up to Alex I haven't seen a single model directed to just hang still for more than a few seconds, allowing me to admire the form. I know that pain is not the issue, it's just the ''style''. Some people here like writhing, they want to see the ''dance''. I don't, it's just as unrealistic and fake for me as the nails. I don't think any crucified victim moved more than an inch up and down on the cross.
And although I have had this... quibble..... since forever, I have never complained to any artist here, paid or unpaid, amateurish or very professional. I don't own them, they don't owe me anything. Even though, as follows from what I wrote, I am not 100% satisfied even with those of Alex's clips that I bought, I didn't come here and complained that they suck.
To sum up, I don't think it's called for to write that he is in ''a rut'', or ''in a period''. An oil lamp is a visual aide, it accentuates skin color. We've (I mean men, I hope I can speak for them) come here to see smooth silky female skin after all.
