I heard about this before. Here's the definition from Wikipedia:
Autonomous sensory meridian response (
ASMR), sometimes
auto sensory meridian response,
[2][3][4] is a tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper
spine.
ASMR signifies the subjective experience of “low-grade
euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin.” It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.
[1][9] A genre of videos intended to induce ASMR has emerged, over 13 million of which had been published on
YouTube by June 2018.
And here's a video that explains it and gives you some examples to test and see if you can experience it:
People who have this ASMR sensitivity are triggered by various things, but soft breathing, whispering, rustling, etc. sounds seem to be high on the list. That particular video clip Mp5stab is referring to has soft breathing sounds, clicks, etc. like some of those ASMR videos.
