Makar model and crux star, Julia Bondareva poses here in an outdoor shoot by Vadim Rigin. The full series of 98 pictures, entitled 'Tank', was published by Met Models on 25 May 2009. The location is Skirmanovsky Heights in the Moscow Oblast, a short distance west of the Russian capital.
I have decided that this series constitutes 'fun with a gun', since Julia posed with the armoured fighting vehicle which forms a 'Monument to Defenders of the Fatherland' - a memorial to those who fought in the Great Patriotic War. The series title is slightly misleading, since the AFV does not have a turret, and is technically a self-propelled gun rather than a tank. Nevertheless, the phallic symbolism is hardly understated.

For those interested in armour, the vehicle, numbered 709, is an ISU-152 of a type introduced in 1943, which saw service with the Red Army in several campaigns well into the 1970s. 4,635 units were built between 1943 - 1959. The type weighs over 47 tons, has a top speed of 25 mph (later models) and has three-and-a-half inches of armour plate in the front of the hull. The six-inch gun fires a massive 152.4 mm calibre artillery shell. Aiming the gun is achieved by moving the whole vehicle on its tracks, and its primary function was in providing artillery support for infantry attacks.
