Actually in the earlier vampire lore all driving a stake through a vampire's heart did was immobilise it. Take the stake out again and the vampire is ready and good to go

I think this is a first Phlebas, a lady crucified wearing pantyhose. Now that will cause some runs in them. I do wonder why they crucified the Pantyhose Princess?
