I like the way the torture sequence of this set using the cross for the whipping. It is a interesting effect.

Whatever! There are women known as 'dominatrix'. It's the same grammar, and I bet even more than a few CF members are familiar with one of them!

Well it does now

But much older is 'senatress', and Old French 'senatresse' (which would be the normal derivative of 'senatrix')
Primarily, it was used for a senator's wife, but according to the OED, Guerdon in 1731 wrote
'Heliogabalus ... made the first senatress. He created a little Senate of women...'
