I was browsing through one of my folders and found this close up crux pic. Torso, breasts, arms, face, all perfect. But what else do we see?
And I have known the arms already, known them all—
Arms that are braceleted and white and bare
(But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!)
I first encountered these lines in my final years of school. Our teacher saw them as symbolic of the imperfection behind the mask of beauty.
But we teenage boys saw something quite erotic in the imagery.
