Very true bushfire is part of the natural cycle, but the sheer extent of this year's fires is beyond any normal experience. Normally pockets will burn, and others will escape, but the 5 million or so hectares already burned this season cover complete habitats, many wild animals will struggle to recover from this, not least the already endangered koala.
We are seeing the navy evacuate people from Australian beaches, this is not normal.
New Zealand glaciers are coated with Australian soot. Not normal.
I hope this is a one off bad year, but I am not confident that our leaders have any answers to this in the long term. Business as usual is their motto.

There will be shortage for domestic crucifixions in Australia.
If you're not fussy about soot then there are plenty of dead trees to use.
Or we may have to go further to find the wood.
Yes, a nice solution, it lacks that beauty that comes from full suspension but it has a delight of its own.
Our Eva, want such a thing? To be staked out on the hard ground, naked and exposed, the sun beating down on her bare skin, the ants and bugs crawling on her sensitive parts, seeking out the hidden moisture between her legs, the birds aiming for those nipples standing proud and tumescent against a relentless, hot breeze . . . . how could anyone want that?

You are so right Phlebas!! Leaders that believe in miracles instead of creating then or in electric cars charging in 5 or 10 minutes. But what is the alternative? Is there any? We don’t have leaders, just politicians that want only to draw their not insignificant salaries.

Be careful though to only buy direct from @messaline : the Chinese are flooding the market with very cheap, totally inferior cross timber. If you look closely, you will seee the brand is masseline. Accept no substitutes!We've as a Crux Forums policy have long decided that the quality of @messaline own premium French/Roman Gaul Crucifixion Wood is by far a considerable improvement over Antipodean-issue Cross timber. It is more durable,easier to import,and better suited for recycling purposes as laid down by regulations according to Julius Caesar,and subsequent Emperors,of Imperial Rome.
Also,the shorter travel distances, means less harmful emissions,generated by flatulent Oar-Slaves,therefore reducing the "Carbon Footprint" and is more Environmentally friendly.
And don't worry about the flatulence of oar-slaves. Scientists are close to a breakthrough on harnessing the emissions for use as an energy source to boost their rowing. Each slave position will be fitted with a carbon capture device which will feed the gases back to a carbon converter and the energy will be used to power an outboard motor. The diet of the slaves will also be modified to consist only of Brussels sprouts and baked beans.

Besides, as far as I recall, Tree has an ex-KLM Boeing 747 (call sign : THT One), which could be chartered in cargo modus (including some condemned in chains) to transport the wood. We, CF members have to support each other.
