I can see why you would say that William, to complete the crucifixion. But they have been cruelly crucified already. Each man is up on his toes, desperately trying to keep the weight off his nailed wrists. The strain will get to them, sooner rather than later, and each one will slump in agony as his toes and calves give out and his body drags his flesh on the nail.
There is a lot to like about these pics. There is a simplicity to the pose, yet they are well displayed, and their suffering is evident and will only increase, humiliatingly witnessed by the many people present. Your work grows increasingly interesting.
