Intriguing startnew short story: Marcus
A group of 4 legionaries with their optio had been sent as scouts across the river to spy on the barbarian camp. They had crossed on a moonless night, using a ford without arousing attention. Unfortunately they had come across a vastly superior enemy patrol, the optio and 2 legionnaires were quickly shot down with an arrow. The third legionary, already old, knowing the tortures that awaited them, took his own life, recommending that Marcus do the same.
Marcus hesitates for a moment: he's still only 25 years old and not ready to die. The assailants took the opportunity to tackle him to the ground, disarm him and tie his hands behind his back. Whatever his fate may be, he is no longer master of it, and he fears to bitterly regret his hesitation.
He was brought into the camp and placed on his knees by a fire under guard. The rest of the night he can see barbarians at work, erecting on the bank two poles with iron rings at the top and bottom, and a cross on which they fix a sedile and nail a metal rod to it at 30°. Poor Marcus feels an icy sweat running down his back. Unless he is rescued by his comrades, he will be subjected to horrific tortures and certainly crucified and impaled on the metal rod.
In the early morning he was taken to shore, still in armour, with his arms tied back to force him to lean forward.
He is presented to the chief, who mocks him in bad Latin, and then he is tied between the two poles facing the Roman camp on the other side of the river.
So f ing hot!others ones
Love the premise. A Roman soldier is doomed to get a dose of their own medicinenew short story: Marcus

ExcellentHis arms and legs are spread wide, stretched painfully. His feet only touch the ground through his big toe if he stands on his tiptoes. He ends up letting himself be hanged because this position is too painful.
Soldiers began to shout and blow their horns to make the Romans run to the opposite bank. The distance was too great to send projectiles, but the whole Roman camp could see the poor legionary tied between the two poles.
Behind him, a shirtless soldier practices cracking his whip in the air to warm up and terrorize Marcus a little more.
The barbarian leader stands in front of Marcus, takes off his helmet and grabs his jaw, now covered with a short beard. He said to her in his broken Latin: "You seem very vigorous, you are going to give us a great show and your friends across the street will be able to enjoy it." Marcus is terrified but tries to remain dignified and unmoved.
The leader stepped aside and two soldiers stood behind him. They begin by removing his belt and armor. Then, while one of them takes off his caligae (sandals), the other tears off his tunic. He is left almost naked, his arms and legs spread apart. The young Roman has a beautiful body that is not very muscular but well defined. Its belly and chest are hairy like its thighs and legs.
