Yes that all too short rowing scene was the high point of an otherwise useless film work. It was supposed to be a comedy, but it didn't work because most of the humor was childish so I believe they stuck the galley scene in there to attract what would have been an otherwise disinterested audience.

Thanks; Spanish is not one of my languages..., yet. Here in the states we have so many Spanish speaking people we are starting to see electrical appliance directions on multiple languages including Spanish and we even have a few traffic signs in in Spanish. My first language was Polish, but I can hardly understand a word of it, I know a some German, and a little Latin so I appreciate you help with "Eulalia"

Thanks; Spanish is not one of my languages..., yet. Yes, it's best to keep her working so she wont have time to think and after the days work is completed we can have her strung up before the entire crew to receive her punishment.... Actually I think she should receive only 25 as opposed to the entire 50, that way there will be a second whipping to inspire the crew when we arrive in England and Belgium to pick up Mel, Hansie, Eilalia and of course some beer.
We can put Eulalia on the bench with Connie, and I think we'll give Mel and Jonsey the whips. While us guys relax and have a few beers, it has been after all a hard winter so a cruise along the Grand Canals of Europe should be quite restful; later, when the girls are in shape, we can take the galley to Venice or maybe even the Gulf or Corinth.
By the way don't forget your cameras, there should be many many wonderful photo ops with all the young hard bodies working at the oars, and perhaps an occasional pix of the landscape.

I know you mean well my Friend. That you only want to have fun the same as everyone else and I would like you to consider that the Staff of this site do not get payed. Some of us are volunteers, Inga founded the site, and others were asked to become Moderators.
The more time we spend undoing the damage of some fool who comes in here and spams the site to sell their garbage, the less time we have to enjoy the site and in my case make pictures.
I like to think of myself as an artist not a Moderator, so if I make an occasional error please enjoy it. (My mother was Polish and we Pollocks do make mistakes with the same alarming regularity as do other ethnic groups.)
So enjoy but remember I'd rather be making pictures,

Saw-Sedile

In your pic, and in AA's 'Southern Cross',
while my head and upper body are in throes of agony from the sadistic Tortures being inflicted on my poor breasts,
my shoulders and legs and pelvis are struggling to cope with the pain of the saw-toothed Sedile that's bearing my body-weight.

Making me straddle a saw-blade is of course a hideously cruel way to torture a woman
(not too nice for a man either!)

The 'saw-horse' is a familiar Instrument of Torture.
That it has been used in very recent times,
is shown by the attached photo (top) taken in Uruguay under military rule in the 1970s.

In his novel Projet pur une revolution dans New York
Alain Robbe-Grillet gives a graphic description of a young woman being slowly tortured to death on such a device
(having already had her pussy repeatedly burned)
with her ankles shackled to a pair of 25Kg weights.

I don't know whether it would be a practical way of increasing the agony of Crucifixion -
if she's able to struggle and twist her loins about, I guess the victim might, if she's 'lucky',
sever a femoral artery on it and bleed to death in a few minutes.

Thanks for the info; your depth knowledge suggests to me that perhaps you are an avid reader and possibly a history fan. I enjoy reading historiography and some of my ideas for pictures come from what I read.
