Yes indeed, a wonderful tool. You can apply pressure for long periods of time without tiring your hand at all, and they have good weight to them too.

I actually prefer the 'less technical quality' of HOM (and others) from those days, and the work that Johnny T at Captivecuties does now, to the carefully choreographed rope work an stress positions of todays riggers and Doms. For me, the obvious consensual scene spoils the damsel in distress fantasy. If there is a bit rougher and less polished action happening, then it creates a non-consensual atmosphere that works better for my sadistic tastes.
