How was the practice. I think, the victim can rest with the feet on this devices. Have you also pictures with impaled persons?

yes i have. In Tamil state of India we don't make the victim stand...he will be made to sit.

They will make the feet above the ground. We have few warrior gods who like this impalement. So they did this as offering cum punishment.
Before impalement they will elaborately console caress the victim

They will apply lot of oil in the tip of impalent device and also in anus hole

The executioner will be very dark with smile in his face. They will engage in consoling dialogue with the victim always but will implement this
