The only technical change I’d recommend is giving the flies a motion blur, as you did long ago for Beside the Roman Road.

I suppose one of the most appealing things about crucifixion (for anyone other than the person being crucified) is the complete and total vulnerability the person on the cross feels. They are total helpless and unable to defend themselves. Imagine what this girl would have done a few hours ago if someone–a total stranger, really-- had been so brazen to touch her in this lewd and intimate manner without her consent. Yet on the cross, alone and helpless, that is her new reality. She can scream, she can beg, she can implore him to stop and allow her some small degree of dignity, but he is under no obligation to grant it. She is helpless and can only endure whatever violation he has in mind for her. Oh, and those shape teeth of his, they can do a real painful number on her tender little nipple. Ladies, if you want to avoid this kind of shameful treatment, don’t let yourself end up on a cross...
