A very interesting angle.

It's odd that probably I'd rate myself very dispersed. On one hand I really like a woman in stocks abused in a tent by barbarians, mild and lame as it is, on the other hand I find interesting a woman with her tits nailed to a wooden board. From 1 to 10 in a heartbeat. But if I am to do an average to the hundreds of farts I ever made, the needle would probably lean into the soft territory. Keep also in mind that many images are never published (you should know, I sent many of them to you before deleting) so they also should weight in this average.

Well, if I was to indeed write down this scale then "a woman in stocks abused in a tent by barbarians" would not rate as 1, and "a woman with her tits nailed to a wooden board" would not rate as 10. I am undecided if 1 should be "no BDSM elements at all" or "only totally consensual play, fluffy rose handcuffs that even the weakest weakling could snap in a second and the like". 10 would be realistically depicted disembowelment, maiming, decapitation and further grandguignolesquerie". I think you average as a 7, with peaks going up to 8. Quoom averages at 9 with peaks of 10. Jucundus averages at 7, maybe even a bit lower, but has peaks, such as the (in)famous flaying of Arya, that reach 9, maybe 10. Agan Medon I would put at a constant 7. ASennov at 6.

One day, if I have lots of time, I should make a scale of hardness of bdsm-themed artists. Ranging 1-10, I believe JD, in spite of his proclamations of being Bambi among the wolves, ranks at the very least a 7, possibly an 8.

Nothing to do with output value where he's a 10, up there with a handful of other all time greats.

In your list the most cruel artist could be JM , so harsh and extreme that chinese ccp arrested him , he has gone past some years , nowhere to be seen , jm was on pixiv

A pic where you see the back of a torturer-dentist and it's suggested by the text he's drilling the victim's teeth would rate quite low. A close-up of the drill going in the teeth would rate high, but not to the maximum which, as said, I think should be reserved for vaster amounts of gore.

Only talking about how extreme content is of course, the image is very good. Always nice to see more of Ciri in distress.

I would add a third factor, namely realism. Since you picked a hot iron as an example, if the author has poor skills and shows us only a hot iron and untarmished skin, OR has the skill but decides to keep it all a bit cartoonish or oniric, then it would be a 7, maybe even a 6. If on the other hand he realistically portrays the charring of the flesh, the smoke, the agonized face of the victim distorted in a scream, then it would be a 9.

An interesting case among the artists I did not mention earlier is SkatingJesus. As far as I can tell his technique is excellent, but somehow when he portrays whipping or crucifixion (don't think he ever toyed with racks or wooden horses) I always get the impression of top models playing at BDSM for a Playboy production, waiting for their paycheck rather than suffering in agony.
