Arsenic is often untraceable, as I understand it, or at least difficult to prove as cause of death. They might not even do an autopsy.

No, and no.

Arsenic is easily detected, even without modern analytical tools as e.g. X-ray-fluorescence. Every chemistry student learns about Marsh's test via AsH3 at the very beginning of his or her studies.

And no. I learned (but I confess I am not sure) that every forensic medical doctor knows the visible signs of an arsenic intoxication.
So an autopsy is very probable.

Manon will undergo several interrogations but will deny for a long time having murdered Alex, the policeman would have wanted to charge Laetitia also as an accomplice and it is at this moment that she confessed her crime which she had committed alone, Laetitia could in no way be held responsible for her act.

Good to know. I will have to brush up on this, clearly. The article where I got my information is obviously either out of date, or just wrong.

If your article says this it is simply wrong. The Marsh test is well known:

And as far as I know there is a characteristic change of color of fingernails in case of arsenic poisoning. Every medical doctor should stumble about this.

During her trial, she showed no remorse and even said that she did it out of love and that she would do it again, as she spoke very harsh and insulting words to the judge and the prosecutor, she was taken back to her cell to await the end of her trial. In her absence she was convicted on both counts of lesbianism and first degree premeditated murder. The judges no doubt wanted to set an example and were ruthless, they pronounced the verdict and Manon received the maximum sentence: The death penalty, she'll be garroted immediately after the trial!

Aw, no hanging?

The garrote is good and interesting but hanging is just more interesting, the kicking naked body just has ... presence!

How about a nice decapitation next?
Dorothy could supply a guillotine? (And be the volunteer?"
Sounds OK to me. I like that.
Dorothy who? Its first thing here, in the morning, Gibbsie lad. And I've just knocked back my first coffee.
Is this a Wizard of Oz themed, beheading, you're thinking of ???
