This isn't acting...no posed crucifixion.

This girl is in real pain...see the taut biceps in her arms as she struggles to push herself up...

She's been hanging from her arms long enough...shoulders are on fire, arms trembling in painful muscular spasms...

Have to push up...to gasp for breath...to ease pain in her shoulders and arms...her breasts heaving with the exertions

But no sooner doe she feel a small bit of relief in her shoulders and arms...

Then her stressed thighs begin their awful burn and the defined muscles in her legs howl in their tearing pain...

Soon she'll collapse again...hanging from her arms...her burning thighs spread open...

Head thrown back against the upright...she screams...moans pitiably...then falls to her chest..right and left

Then the back arches, chest rises as she pushes up yet again on legs stressed beyond agony...

Now bowing out from the cross and grunting as she reaches for the sky...

Ah, crucifixion...constantly trading one unendurable pain for another pain, for another pain...as long as you can...

I love this pic...reminds me of my own self-crux crucifixion experiences...damn they were wonderful!!!!!:D

I'm all excited...:eek::D:D

I agree Celticvirgin, his work was amazing, and this place is amazing.
For this year's Makar Memorial tribute, here are two of his great models, Lena and Erica.

Makar was an artistic successor to Frantisek Drtikol. Both took amazing pictures and their work lives on in frequent reappearances in quality manips. Good to see some early Makar here - pioneering stuff. Maybe we'll see some more?

click 'Search' above,
then on the Search page enter Makar
and select 'search titles only'
 
It's great to see this thread being perpetuated. I have previously commented that Makar's work lives on through quality manipulations. The pure realism which he achieved is a credit to his high standards and the demanding physical performances of his models. Consequently the debt owed to him and them by so many crux artists is incalculable. I sometimes wonder what new pictures we might be seeing if this dedicated crux photographer was still active.

With all this in mind and a personal desire to acknowledge Makar's inspiration, towards the end of last year, I decided to create a manipulation in homage to his style. Whilst the choice of a sepiatone 'Portrait d'une Crucifiee' with a French title presented obvious references to Makar, I did not want to produce a slavish manipulation of an existing Makar image. I felt the Master deserved something original as a tribute. As his models were also worthy of recognition, I chose one of them as my subject.

I hope the resulting 'Esprit de Makar' is something of which he would have approved. Thank you Makar (and Alice.)
