2007 saw the other Jennifer Connelly manip, and then there is a leap to 2011 when it can be said that I started doing manips regularly again, and posting them. Ph121 and ph122 have not been posted in public before now.

ph124 I had fun with this, it was supposed to be an old Chinese postcard around Boxer Rebellion time, and showing missionaries/foreigners
ph124a crucified in Peking*. Look carefully and you will see 3 figures, two westerners and a Chinese, two men and a woman

Thanks Lox. I had fun doing it. I did a similar one much earlier, further up this thread.

So, I started again in 2011, and then the years 2012 and 2013 were quite fruitful, as we will see. This next set is more heavily male crux, with a lot of passion play inspired pics. Imagine performing in ph134, perhaps in front of friends, family, neighbours, that cute girl you like . . . . . .

ph128 an early attempt at the classical genre, with a small modification.
ph129 one of those reality competitive shows as it should have been
ph130 more modified art
ph131 this one is quite important to me, but is superceeded by a later version that I prefer, it's intended to be respectful (based on Oberammergau)
ph132 based on the Badlands Passion Play, with obvious mods. You will see this manip in the background of a couple of Markus' pics
ph133 Last Temptation, with the legs spread and equipment visible dangling between
ph134 an outdoor Passion Play with added nudity
ph135 Jesus Christ Superstar with nudity, I like to image performances like this with added authenticity, what an impact it would have

Shit! I did everything right. I played the game according to the rules, was loyal to my team ... and look what happened! The reality show bastards got together behind my back and voted to have me stripped naked and crucified! No fair!

2012 was a bumper year, with many manips posted, and some experiments may not have been. The first ones here were a bit of an experiment, I'm not sure if it worked, variations on a theme

ph141 a member crucified, he features in several other manips by me and others
ph142 that Xena scene again but male
ph143 having a bit of fun
ph144 I like this one, I've used the background more than once
ph145 and I like the idea behind this one, why shouldn't these works be in a gallery?

The #145 : on display in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp? (likely virtual since the museum is currently closed for renovation).

Yes, I soon spotted them, I think my eyes are programmed now to spot naked, crucified figures even from a great distance in fuzzy black and white.

Night-time in China (the Mission)

Well, that story of a french christian Mission assaulted by Boxer's uprising starts the day where begins the "55 days of Pekin". Warning, you guess what Boxers did to women...not for fainted hearts. I got a big push from Eulalia who polished my rough translation to obtain a more idiomatic text...

ph161 I rather like the idea of putting the art on a wall to be viewed
