So what happens when Little Brampton has a backlog of witches to be hanged? One solution was to work in shifts. Here is a pic of an early morning shift. Hardly anyone about except the hangman and his dutiful wife providing cups of tea and the occasional sandwich. She actually runs a witch meat stall on market days and only sells the finest cuts. Also to be seen is the body cart pulling alongside to the right.

Looking at the backlog list it appears that Mary Jones is next. The stupid girl got herself pregnant (Maybe with a bit of help from Herbert Fitzroy) and wants money for upkeep from the lord of the manor (Herbert). He's accused her of consorting with the devil himself. Should she be hanged?

It looks like sentence has been passed on Mary Jones and about to be carried out before the usual baying crowd of onlookers. Judging by their expressions I would say there is no love lost between Mary and the girl in the bottom right of the pic watching with her boyfriend. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who made the allegations in the first place.

...an easy manip done on a masterful picture. I did not mean to interrupt tremendous endeavor to rid the world of the sinful wenches but I detected a look in her eye that she lusts for her 'wedding dance' as she is hanged so she can join her beloved Satan for eternity! Do carry on!!!

Wonder picture! With Little Brampton having a backlog of witches to be hanged, neighboring towns had to take care of their own witches. Here in a nearby town they found a coven of witches. They are already in the process of disposing if the witch Messaline with Barbara and 'Siss' in the queue.
