Missing Members - any news?

First I want to apologize for my sudden absence with no word. I woke up Dec 8 with Influenza A (Avian Flu), & spent a day in the ER waiting for a hospital bed. I have copd and that virus nearly killed me. I got lucky and my lungs cleared up enough to go home after 5 days, and I've been slowly getting my strength back since then as my lungs cleared up. I'm just now feeling strong enough to sit at a keyboard and catch up.

I do appreciate everyone's concern.... it means at lot to me. If I had been able to, I would have left a message here. But it was basically an emergency and wasn't able to do that. But I'm back now, and will be posting again soon.

Again, thank you to all my friends for your concern.

Sorry to hear you were so ill, Wulf. And glad to hear you are doing better. This has been a rough time for respiratory viruses.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it really means a lot to me.

There are several strains of influenza raging in my part of the US right now. I don't go out much at all and seldom around people, so for me to catch it it had to be very prevalent in my town. I take precautions because of my lung disease, so this was quite a shock to me.

Anyway, just glad to be back here with all my friends. :)

Flu is not to be taken lightly. COVID made us less weary of other diseases, but flu kills tens of thousands in the US every year. 2020-2021 was very light, estimated around 5,000, because the precautions taken against COVID also work against flu. Now that those precautions are being relaxed, flu is coming back.
I got my first flu vaccination in November and I haven't gotten sick yet. Everyone should get one.
