Bloody nice sketch, @montycrusto - I tend to agree with @Eulalia ’s analysis that your sketch conveys the coldness of her cell, the constriction of her restraints, the cold hard stone, and the inadequate gruel she is given in complete humiliation. Such a fortunate penitent to be permitted to offer her penance to the Lord in this way. That is the best part of being Catholic!!

A great tribute. Studying the masters is always useful (and fun). As Eul said, the picture, in absence of color, conveys the message even more directly.
I have always loved how Pichard's women many times seem to have an ironic attitude towards the harsh predicaments they're in, like in this case.

I have had some works “coloured in” by others (sometimes with my knowledge and permission, sometimes without) and usually I prefer the B/W original, although @mp5stab did a great job on one of my sketches, quite a long time ago. Several Pichard comics are available in colour and B/W, you can guess which I prefer
