That reminds me of a joke I cracked a while back,
when we were having a discussion about hygiene in ancient Rome:
Naraku: Slaves were assigned to clean up the animal waste in the streets
& it was illegal to dump your chamber pot out the window.
Fox on Cross: Yes, the lictores with fasces was the police in Rome.
Eul: And lictores with fasces took a dim view of faeces
