the resolution loss is due to the image being display as raster (pixel based) rather than vector based. It's possible to convert the image from raster to vector on an iMac using Super Vectorizer 2 for Mac.

To illustrate the effect on a raster image of enlargement by the user, see attachment. This resolution degradation cannot be overcome while image remains in raster rendition.
